Dash Diet Plan Book Jul 20, 2010 Seems to be a pretty good book. First one I've found that has actual menus in it for a month! That's the problem with most diet plans, they tell to to eat certain things, but you have no idea how to put them together.

Essential book... Jun 13, 2010 My doctor recently said that my BP was getting a bit high - nothing serious, about 130/90. In the old days, they would have said this was fine, but more and more research shows that even "mild" hypertension is best to be avoided. I don't want to end up doing the "popping pills" option, so I thought I'd finally get serious and look into this DASH diet my doc had been mentioning for years.
I purchased this book a few weeks ago, and I'm happy to say that it is just what I needed - a good mix of dietary info, scientific facts, menu suggestions and recipes. Some of the chapters include:
* Conquering hypertension & heart disease
* 28 days of 2,000 calorie DASH menus
* DASH your way to weight loss
* Other Health Concerns
* Lifestyle Changes to help lower blood pressure
* Deciphering food labels
* The DASH kitchen makeover
I'm about to start following the DASH diet (goes to prove that BUYING a book is only the first step...), and I'll update here with my results.

This diet works for lowering blood pressure. Jun 08, 2010 This book was recommended by my doctor for lowering blood pressure and it has worked - mainly adding potassium to my diet. I have also lost some weight which is a goal for me as well. I have tried many diets and find this one easy to follow and very healthful.
